宮城県石巻市の安産祈願 – 鹿島御児神社 (かしまみこじんじゃ)

「石巻」の地名は「鹿島天足別命（かしまあまたりわけのみこと）」が奥州の開拓のために上陸するため、沿岸で錨を操作したときに石を巻上げたことに由来するとされています。

鹿島御児神社（かしまみこじんじゃ）」は石巻開拓の祖として古くから信仰を集めていており、祭神は「武甕槌命（たけみかづちのみこと）」と鹿島天足別命の親子の神様です。

鹿島御児神社がいつ創建されたかは不明ですが、総本宮が茨城県にある鹿島神社の一つとされています。

元々は鹿島台に鎮座していましたが葛西家が築城した際に日和山に移したことから、地元では「日和山神社」と呼ばれて親しまれています。

境内まで道が通っており広い駐車場も完備しているため、車で行きやすく妊婦さんに優しい造りとなっています。

鹿島御児神社は東日本大震災で本殿の基礎部分に被害を受けたため、安全のために解体されました。

氏子の多くが被災者のため負担を掛けないよう本殿再建のための寄付をお願いしています。

高台に位置する神社からは石巻の街並みを見渡せ、復興に向かう街の状況を感じることができます。
