熊本県熊本市の安産祈願 – 代継宮 (よつぎぐう)

熊本市にある「代継宮（よつぎぐう）」は、961年　村上天皇の時代に肥後の国司として赴任した紀師信が現在の花畑公園に肥後国の守護のために神社を建てたことで始まります。その時に神社の四隅に木を四本植えたため「四木宮」と名付けられました。

神功皇后も祀られる 代継宮

1603年　江戸時代になり熊本城築城の際に御殿建設のため、神社は現在の場所に移されます。

その後、6歳という幼さで熊本藩三代目藩主となった細川綱利が無事に国を治めることができたことを神仏に加護と考え、神社の名前を「代継宮」と改名しました。

代継宮の祭神は住吉大神という航海の神様です。この神様は三韓征伐の時に臨月である「神功皇后（じんぐうこうごう）」を助けた神様として知られています。

妊娠、出産に関係する数多くの逸話が残っていることで安産の神様として有名な神功皇后も祀られているため、代継宮には安産祈願の参拝客が多く訪れます。

安産祈願を希望される場合は、社務所にて当日受付を行ってください。

事前予約は必要ありませんが、出張祈願などで不在の可能性がありますので前もって確認しておくと安心です。

境内には子どもの神様を祀っている「古川神社」もありますので、お帰りの際に足を運ばれてみてはいかがでしょうか。
